CATHEDRAL 2022	Watercolour on heavy paper 19 x 29 cms	This is in a realistic abstract style that's I'm a bit hooked on currently painted with predominently one of Daniel Smith's gorgeous colours. Bowl of Oranges 2021	Gouache 27 x 18 cms ( frame 64 x 45 cms	I made a light box and bought two bags of oranges and painted this in gouache on heavy water colour paper utilising a bowl and pots from our collection. Red Pot 2022	Acrylic 42 x 46 cms	I had the idea of intergrating the frame into the painting, also using flat acrylic paint for contrast. The pot shape is based on a 1990s Poole pottery pot the apple is in there because it's the complementary colour to red as well as a balancing shape. Brr , it's cold outside ! 2021	Mixed media 64 x 46 cms	This painting was inspired by the shore on the River Exe but the result lacked punch so I inserted a hut with smoke coming out of the chimney. SOLD OSCILLATIONS 2021	Watercolour 12 X 12" ( white box frame 20 x 20 "	Inspired by Josef Albers who was originally a Bauhaus tutor eventually teaching at Yale University in the USA where he got his students to experiment with colour using coloured paper as the colours would be more constant than paint. However I liked one of his exercises so much that I've used the idea for a watercolour painting. Thus the colours shapes and layout are remininscent of his exercise rather than a direct copy. Vertigo 2013	Pastel and acrylic on canvas 50 x 61 cms	The idea just developed as I went along. Wanted to experiment with a pastel combination on canvas so the large cross stripes are pastel with three coats of matt varnish, the rest is acrylic paint with three coats of gloss varnish. The perspective is achieved only by converging lines, I haven't changed colours as the lines go further away as one would in a landscape composition, but I have put some blue 'pointilist' dots in the far rectangle to give it a bit of distance. glastphil102@gmail.com m 07801 281497	view

However as I've just started experimenting with clay tiles I thought it would be fun to go through the process so this is my painted interpretation in oil of his design.	view
